Top leaders of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) have congratulated one of its Vice Presidents, Dr Sijuade Kayode who has been appointed as the National Level Adviser of NACCIMA, the umbrella body of chambers of Commerce in Nigeria.

The letter convening the appointment from NACCIMA signed by its Director General,Amb Ayo Olukanmi reads as follows:

“On behalf of the National President, Council and the entire members of the NACCIMA, I write to formally congratulate you on your appointment as the National Legal Adviser, NACCIMA to step into the position of Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, on the NACCIMA Executive Committee. This decision was taken at the 3 rd Quarter Council Virtual Meeting held on 24th September, 2020, based on your nomination by Abuja Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

“Your choice is a clear testimony of the confidence in your ability to serve in this position created by the exit of Prof. Adesoji Adesugba who has been appointed as the Managing Director of NEPZA”, the statement read.

Reacting to the appointment, the immediate last legal adviser of NACCIMA, Prof Adesoji Adesugba who is also the Managing Director of NEPZA, said: “this is a good choice by NACCIMA and I have no doubt with his antecedents in ACCI and previous assignments that I know, he will definitely make us all proud”

Also responding, the second deputy President of ACCI, Chief Emeka Obegolu described Dr Kayode as “competent and highly versed learned fellow in the business and trade sector, stating that ” We are convinced that Dr Kayode is a very suitable replacement for Prof Adesugba”

Three time Minister of Nigeria, Dr Aliyu Idi Hong who is also ACCI Vice President on Inter-Governmental Affairs and Regional Integration said Dr Kayode is joining NACCIMA with fast international experience in trade matters, commending NACCIMA leadership for appointing a young dynamic trade lawyer as a legal adviser.

The Executive Director of ACCI Policy Advocacy Centre, Mr Olawale Rasheed described Dr Kayode as “a versatile trade lawyer with wide experience at home and abroad”, noting that ” Kayode posssesses the wherewithal to carry on where Prof Adesugba stopped”.
