Unity Bar Partners With Abuja Chamber Of Commerce And Industry To Organize Training For Young Lawyers

The Dispute Resolution Centre of Abuja chamber of commerce and industry (DRC-ACCI) in conjunction with the Unity Bar Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) organized a one-day training on ADR administrative and secretarial services for Unity branch young members.

The training was aimed at providing skills on ADR registry and secretariat services as well as theoretical understanding of conflict resolution proceedings.

The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Prince Adetokunbo Kayode SAN, The Chairman of DRC-ACCI Chief Emeka Obegolu and the Chairperson of NBA Unity Bar Princess Frank Chukwuani were all present to address the participants.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of DRC ACCI thanked the young lawyers for their interest in ADR and the processes thereof and assured them that the Centre is a one stop dispute resolution centre for small and medium enterprises disputes and bilateral trade disputes. He invited them to utilize the opportunity offered by the centre in helping lawyers retrieve their work from security agencies, including police stations that masquerade as dispute resolution centers.
The Director of the DRC ACCI, Aisha Ado Abdullahi , thanked the Chair of the Unity Bar for her interest in the development of the young lawyers and assured the Unity Bar of the cooperation of the centre in the drive to empower young lawyers with adequate tools for a competitive industry.
The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN in his remarks informed the young lawyers that the future of the profession is in their hands and they must appreciate the opportunity given to them to acquire new practice skills. He thanked the Branch Chair and pledged his support for any initiative that is designed to prepare the generation next.
