Aisha Abdullahi appointed as National President of Nigerian Institute of ADR secretaries

At the inaugural meeting of the Nigerian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Secretaries held on 20th September, 2018, members unanimously appointed Aisha Ado Abdullahi as the National President of the Institute.

In her acceptance speech, she thanked the Institute for the opportunity to serve and urged the pioneer members to work hard to lay a good foundation and structure for the Institute and pledged her commitment in taking the Institute to a great height.

Aisha who is the Director of the Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC) of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce is a practicing lawyer and the Managing Partner of Green Edge Attorneys.

She is also the immediate past Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

She is a member of the Dispute Resolution Committee of the International Bar Association, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a fellow of Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, member of panels of neutrals at Kano multi-door court house and the Abuja Chamber of Commerce Dispute Resolution Centre.

After observing the appointment, the ACCI Vice President responsible for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) who doubles as the Provost of the Business Entrepreneurial Skills and Technology (BEST) Center, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba expressed satisfaction with the process.

“Aisha Esquire is a thorough breed and well versed legal practitioner of great repute. She has demonstrated time without number that she is competent, capable, ready and willing to take this Chamber’s ADR Centre to enviable heights.

“I have no doubt in my mind that she will effectively and efficiently discharge the responsibilities bestowed on her by this position. I have absolute trust in her abilities to deliver on schedules without any supervision”, Prof. Adesugba stated.

Other appointed members are: Chidimma Onyiaorah, Vice President; Emeka Silas Agbara, Communications/Marketing Secretary; Helen Amichi Edoma Deputy communications and marketing secretary and Eudorah Ezeonye, Secretary.

Others are: Chisom Nwosu, Deputy Secretary; Ayuga Ishaya Agidi, Financial Secretary; Ujuamara Obiedelu Deputy Financial Secretary as well as Mimi Ayua who is to serve as Programmes Coordinator.
