Abuja Chamber’s President Condemns Killing of Soldiers
The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, has issued a strong condemnation of the tragic killing of servicemen in the Okuama coastal community in Ugheli North of Delta State.
The incident occurred on Thursday, March 14, 2024, when Nigerian troops, responding to a crisis between Okuama and Okoloba communities in Delta State, were ambushed. The unfortunate incident resulted in the loss of one Commanding Officer, two Majors, one Captain, twelve soldiers, and one civilian.
Expressing his deep sadness and shock over the loss of the brave servicemen, Chief Obegolu, SAN, PhD, highlighted the ACCI’s unwavering support for the armed forces and called for an investigation to unravel the root cause of the violence.
Chief Obegolu, SAN, PhD, emphasized the importance of protecting those who selflessly safeguard the nation and preserve the sanctity of human life while stressing that ACCI is an Armed Forces-friendly institution.
As the leader of the organized Private Sector in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, he commiserated with the president and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Defense Staff and the families of the fallen heroes.
