ACCI Champions Single Window Initiative to Combat Illicit Financial Flows

April 3, 2026

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has called for the accelerated implementation of the Single Window Initiative as a strategic tool to curb illicit financial flows and enhance trade transparency in Nigeria.

Speaking at a side event hosted by the Nigeria Revenue Service in Abuja, ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, represented by Vice President (Commerce), Dr. Chijioke Ekechukwu, highlighted the damaging impact of trade misinvoicing and customs manipulation on government revenue and business competitiveness.

He described the Single Window system as a “transformative solution” that promotes transparency, reduces corruption, and improves efficiency by enabling traders to submit documentation through a unified digital platform.

Chief Obegolu emphasised the need for strong political will, robust digital infrastructure, and collaboration between government and the private sector to ensure effective implementation.

The event, held at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, brought together key stakeholders, including the African Union Commission, to advance strategies for strengthening financial integrity across Africa.
