The present leadership of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has received a pat at the back for embarking on legacy projects that have impacted greatly on the lives of its members, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nigeria in general.
This is coming from the Indian Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Subhash Chand and Regional Director for Africa in Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mr E.B. Rajesh who were in the chamber yesterday.
In his comment, Mr. Chand said he was marveled at the transformational leadership of the current President of the chamber, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, CON., SAN who was inaugurated as the 10th Executive leader of the organization in January, 2018.
Mr. Chand who said he was amazed at moving the chamber from an organization with just a single structure to that with four functional centers to carter for divergent business needs also stressed the strategic importance of ACCI in facilitating business activities between his country and Nigeria.
“I am pleasantly surprised to come here and see that things have dramatically changed for the better. The place where the training arm of this chamber is situated used to be an open pavilion.
“I have noticed that the infrastructural base of this chamber has increased exponentially. The Business Entrepreneurial Skills and Technology (BEST) center has now taken upon itself the responsibility of training people in critical skills areas. I am impressed”, Mr. Chand maintained.
On his part, Mr. Rajesh said training is very critical in the overall development of any country’s economy.
“As a chamber of commerce and industry, it is worth mentioning that the trainings and capacity building activities this chamber is embarking will accelerate economic development of Nigeria.
“CII is happy that it is our alumnus, Prof. Adesugba who is also the Vice President responsible for ICT is driving BEST. He has demonstrated practically that nothing is impossible with determination and focus. I wish leadership of this chamber the best”, Rajesh said.
Earlier while conducting the duo round the training facilities of BEST, its Provost, Prof. Adesugba said the visionary leadership of Prince Kayode has made the realization of such laudable initiatives very realistic within a record time.
“We will continue to partner and collaborate with India in areas of competitive and comparative advantages for both countries. I am a beneficiary of the trainings by this great body, the CII. And for high ranking officials to appreciate the efforts we have pit on ground here is a huge source of encouragement”, Prof. Adesugba emphasized.
