National President of the National Association of Chamber if Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Iyalode Alaba Lawson, MFR has been elected as the Nigerian Chairman for United Nations Industrial Development Organization, (UNIDO) programmed tagged Global Good Agricultural Practices (GGAP).
The development has received commendations from the President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN and the chamber’s Vice President, responsible for Information and Communication Technology ( ICT), Prof Adesoji Adesugba.
Iyalode Lawson was elected in Abuja during the week after a meeting of critical stakeholders in the initiative with the Technical Director, Dr. Shaukat.
In his message, Prince Kayode described Iyalode Lawson as a pillar of the Organized Private Sector (OPS) whose contribution to the development of chamber movement in West Africa could appropriately be described as immeasurable and outstanding.
“I am proud to be associated with Iyalode Alaba Lawson whose unrelenting efforts in ensuring that the chamber movement in the West African sub-region take its proper pride of place, has elevated the collective existence of possible and profitable businesses.
“ She has dedicated her entire energy, competence, expertise and time to enthroning the ideals that has accounted for her ascension to this position of high responsibility.
“I have no iota of doubt in my own mind that as she was picked from a pool of other well meaning personalities, she was outstanding and will ensure that the initiative is given a new lease of life. This will, in turn impact positively on the fortunes of the targeted beneficiaries.
“I wish her well in the assignment and wish her all the luck as she strives to make the plight of our farmers a better one”, Prince Kayode maintained.
Similarly, Prof. Adesugba in his message emphasized the she has taken NACCIMA to enviable height which has remained a pride for all players in the sector.
Adesugba noted that with the new job in UNIDO, another clear signal has been sent, attesting to her indispensability in the scheme of affairs.
“It was with great joy that I received the good news of Iyalode’s election in this capacity. A feather has been added to her many caps.
“She is detailed, patriotic and a worthy example that needs to be emulated by all other women in her generation and those younger than her.
“She has remained a rallying point, a beacon of inspiration for all of us in the chamber movement in the sub-region and beyond. She will surpass the expectations in terms of delivering on the core mandate of her office”, Adesugba
