ACCI President, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode SAN in a brief interview with the press before the commencement of the event today stated that as part of ACCI effort to drive a business city in Abuja and Nigeria, the 3rd Abuja Investment Expo 2018 which Kick Starts today with Exhibitors both within and outside the country is mainly focused on infrastructure and investment in houses, roads, power etc., which are projects to be done by private sectors or by PPP (Public Private Partnership).

He stated that there will be opportunities for B2B (business to business) meetings, signing of MOU, contracts, to find out about prospective business, invest in building etc. making it clear that ACCI has taken it upon itself to open doors of opportunities to both the members and non-members of the chamber.

Stating that infrastructure is a challenge all over the world and Nigeria is not exempted and there is need to understand Government cannot do this alone. So it is important for private investors to join hands with the government to encourage investment and infrastructure, admonishing government to continually liberalise and open the door to encouraging public private partnership.

Abuja Investment Expo 2018 help to promote investment to open doors to businesses for the development of the country, he stated that this will work with the help of the discussion in the Expo on how government policies can attract businesses, how private sector should do the right thing, the usage of cheaper construction materials, the need to make use of local professionals rather than bringing experts from oversea, which in addition to this there is need to introduce skill development within the infrastructure space which will enhance their knowledge and ability and also to use new tools to make it easier for development to take place.
