SPEECH DELIVERED BY THE PRESIDENT OF ABUJA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY,  PRINCE ADETOKUNBO KAYODE,  CON.,  SAN,  AT THE UKRAINIAN EDUCATION DAYS IN NIGERIA HELD AT ABUJA INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE ON THURSDAY,  11TH APRIL,  2019.
Protocols:
I am highly delighted to be with you on the maiden activities marking the commencement of Ukranian Education Days in Abuja. Today is particularly a great day to me because we are taking a step further in embarking on activities that will not educate the world but also unite all of us across several divides.
As part of our efforts to scale up the development of our society,  we have identified education as one of the critical elements that will not only redeem the people from the shackles of ignorance,  illiteracy and poverty but also bring the world closer through a process known as ‘brain chain’.
This event is also deliberately organised to deepen and sustain the need to expand cooperation between our countries and to  promote Ukraine as the priority destination for Nigerian youth for higher education.
Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is holding this two-day event tagged “Ukrainian Education Days in Nigeria “Study in Ukraine” to give our people an opportunity to source for high quality education outside our shores.
The Ukrainian Education days provide an opportunity for meeting representatives of leading Ukrainian universities, on-the-spot admissions, counselling of prospective students and  parents, assessment of admission documentation requirements and  various scholarship opportunities for Ukrainian Universities.
As I look at the quality of attendance to this event, which is attended by the official representative of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nigeria, representatives of Ukrainian higher educational institutions, Director, Center for International Education of Ministry of Education and Science, Ukraine, Nigerian higher educational institutions, graduating students/applicants, pupils of secondary schools, colleges, students of training institutions, parents, university lecturers, Nigerian business community,  journalists and other critical members of the society,  I am doubly sure that we have collectively rekindled that burning desire for qualitative education.
I want to thank the Embassy of Ukraine in Nigeria and all other partners that have made today’s event possible.
I therefore enjoin you all to take today’s exercise very seriously and wish you all all the best.
Thank you.
Prince Adetokunbo Kayode,  CON,  SAN
